1. About Hampstead Comedy

Founded in April 1994, the aim is to provide a local comedy venue with good quality entertainment at an affordable price.  Since September 2011 the Club has been included in Time Out’s list of top London comedy venues.  It is an ethical establishment with a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of harassment and bullying.  Any complaints in this regard should be addressed to the management in writing.

Regularly on Saturday nights.

 

3. Venue description

We are at the specially refurbished comedy room upstairs at the Camden Head in Camden High Street. The venue is a classic, intimate and friendly club with a 70 capacity. There is good sound and lighting and everyone gets an excellent view. 

 

4. Who are the acts?

Established comedians, occasional newcomers and a sprinkling of star names. Although we welcome famous artistes, all performers are treated equally and get paid at the same rate. If we we have a star name coming up we advise people on the mailing list in advance. You can join it here: mailing list  The Hampstead Comedy Club is pleased to have adopted the Equity Comedians’ Standard contract and works within its terms.

 

5. What’s the ticket price?

The standard price is £10.00 with occasional concessions. We confidently boast we are the best-value Saturday night comedy show in London. If you can find a better deal anywhere in London please let us know.

 

6. What is your booking policy for acts?

We try to have an open door policy, but acts who publicly endorse racist or homophobic organisations and the like are not welcome at the Club.  Also see item 1 above with regard to harassment and bullying.

 

7. Nearest tube?

The venue is a couple of minutes walk from either Camden Town or Mornington Crescent tube stations.  Lots of buses too.

 

8. What about eating and drinking?

The bar downstairs does food, but we do not allow it in the comedy room.  All the drinks are pub priced and we have a late bar until Saturdays.  Food enquiries to the pub on 0207 485 4019.

 

9. What’s the best way to get tickets?

You can book in advance online from this site.  If you have an enquiry please call  07722 832635.  If you reach a voice mail please leave your name and telephone number clearly at the end of the message and we will get back to you very soon.

Kindly note, acts do occasionally pull out.  We make every effort to obtain suitable replacements and always do our best to amend this site’s information to include any changes. Apart from that, one important reminder:  We are a strictly over-18’s venue.
