HAMPSTEAD COMEDY CLUB - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. How long has the club been established?
Over 16 years .
2. What is the aim of the club?
To provide a local comedy venue where you can see good value entertainment with minimum hassel. Strictly over-18's only.
3. When does it operate?
Saturday nights with occasional specials in midweek and on Sundays.
4. What's the capacity?
Currently 95 . There is good sound and lighting and everyone gets an excellent view.
5. Will I get a seat?
Everyone gets seated but if you are part of a large group who all wish to sit together aim to arrive early. All customers should arrive 30 minutes before the show starts.
6. Are large groups of people welcome?
Provided they behave well and treat the performers and staff with consideration and respect. Excessive drunkeness and abusive behaviour are not tolerated.
7. Who are the acts?
Established comedians with a sprinkling of star names. We often welcome famous artistes, but all performers are treated equally and get paid at the same rate. If we we have a star name coming up we advise people on the mailing list in advance. You can join it here: Mailing List
8. Are the shows always good?
No. The shows are live. Someimes acts go down badly and (very rarely) the whole show stinks, but if good comedy is about being truthful then so are we. If a comedy venue tells you their shows never fail, they're misleading you. However, at the Hampstead Comedy Club you can usually be assured of an excellent night out.
9. What's the ticket price?
The standard price is £9.50 and £8.00 concessions. We confidently boast we are the best-value Saturday night comedy show in London. £7.50 for groups of 8 or more if booked online.
10. Do I have to pay membership?
No, we don't do scams.
11. Is there parking?
Yes, in the nearby side streets.
12. What about public tranasport?
A couple of minutes walk from Chalk Farm tube station.
13. What about eating?
Good quality, freshly cooked bar food downstairs. But, we do NOT allow food in the comedy room. If you plan to eat, please arrive at around 6pm. If you arrive later you may miss the beginning of the show. All food enquiries to The Pembroke on 020 7483 2927
14. What about drinks and late bar?
Pub price drinks and bar until midnight on Saturdays.
15. What's the best way to get tickets?
Its generally best to book in advance online. Any unsold tickets can be reserved on the telephone on 020 7633 9539. If you reach a voicemail please leave your name and telephone number clearly and we will get back to you very soon. Tickets reserved by phone must be collected 30 minutes before the show in order to guarantee you admission. We remind you, things work best if people arrive at least an half an hour before the start so they can relax, have a drink and be in the mood for another great night at the Club.
